Delna Davis Biography

Delna Davis is a young actress associated with Malayalam and Tamil cinema, best known for her works in hit films - You Too Brutus (2015) and Happy Wedding (2016). In 2017 she played lead role in Tamil film, Kurangu Bommai directed by newcomer, Nithilan Swaminathan who rose to prominence through reality shows. She is credited as Vaidehi in Tamil films. Delna is a Tamilian who made her debut through Tamil films, later moved to Malayalam films and earned recognition in both these industries. She is best known for playing village girl roles in Tamil cinema.

Delna hails from Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. She made her film debut through Tamil film, Patra in 2015. She changed her name to Vaidehi for her Tamil film career. Patra was a low profile film, and she worked aside a newcomer, Mithun Dev. The movie went unnoticed. Very soon she got an offer from Malayalam film industry and she made film debut through You Too Brutus the same year. She played the supporting role of Tina in this film, and You Too Brutus was an average grosser. She was casted opposite Vinu Mohan, and they played a live-in-relationship couple.

Later she regularly worked in both Tamil and Malayalam film industries. Though she signed several Tamil projects, many of them got shelved. 49-O was her second Tamil release and Kurangu Bommai, the most recent one. In between she was seen in Nanaiyadhe Mazhaiye. Delna played the role of Lakshmi in 2016 sleeper hit - Happy Wedding. She was paired opposite Amit Chakalakkal in the film. She regularly gets offers to don the village belle avatar in Tamil, while she gets modern roles in Malayalam. She played veteran comedian Goundamani’s daughter in her most recent release, Kurangu Bommai, the movie which marked actor’s comeback to films after a long time.
