Danny Sapani Biography

Danny Sapani is an accomplished and versatile English actor of Ghanaian descent, who works in Indian movies as well. He is associated with theater, movies and television. He got opportunity to be involved in drama and plays since his younger days. Joe Turner's Come, Trance and Gone and Radio Golf are the important credits owned by Danny. Tamil movie - Singam II is his latest Indian movie appearance. He has also worked in a few Bollywood and other language films. Misfits, Shirley, Garrow's Law and The Jury II are among his latest appearances and he also acted in the play - Moon on a Rainbow Shawl at the National Theatre in 2012, where his lead role earned him critics’ appreciation.


He was born in London to immigrant Ghanaian couple and he has 5 siblings. Sapani was grown up in Hackney in 1970’s, the place known for notarial criminals and not promising for youngsters. His father had great love towards plays and also holds a copy of Shakespeare’s Complete Works. Young Danny used to read the plays from father’s drawer and he got greatly attached to them. His mother too had great passion of reading and many of his family members were musicians.

 
While at Weekend Arts College, he met a few people who want to do something different in life. So he too thought to become a writer or musician. He just wanted to do something creative and decided to do acting.  Very soon he enrolled at Central School of Speech and Drama to study essence of acting. He is an experienced Shakespearean actor and played Macbeth in an award-winning production of Max Stafford Clark. His TV credits include - Doctor Who, Misfits, Blackout etc.
