Carol Gracias Biography

Carol Gracias is a very successful and one among the highly paid Indian models. During the 2006 Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, she went through a "wardrobe malfunction” when her halter top slipped off and later she and the organizers had to face huge protest from public. Even a case was registered in Mumbai. She became one of te most talked models after 2006 following this incident. She was the Winner of the Femina Look of the Year in 1998 and first runner-up of celebrated show on Colors Television – Bigg Boss in 2006. She has also participated as a contestant in Khatron ka khiladi with Akshay Kumar.

Carol Gracias was born on 28 December 1978 in Mumbai, to a Goan Catholic family. She was brought up in this metro city. She has one younger brother. Before the malfunction incident of Lakme Fashion week, she has appeared in guest role in English movie, Being Cyrus and has also danced in the item song, "Right Here Right Now" from the movie Bluffmaster. She started her career as a model and soon shot to fame with the win of Femina Look of the Year in 1998. With her own unique style of modelling and a vibrant personality, she became one of the top highly paid models of the time. She has also won India's L'Oreal/Elite "Look of the year" title.

With the infamous episode of wardrobe malfunctioning of a ramp walk in the year 2006, Carol Gracias shot in infamy. Within moments, the videos were shown not on television sets, but on mobile phones as MMS clips. Following the protests, a local court ordered the police to investigate the incident. A social activist, Prakash Rajdev, registered an FIR against the organisers of Lakme India Fashion Week and the models involved stating that such incidents are intentional. Carol believes that women should be educated and she wants to do a PHD in child psychology in the future.
