C. S. Dubey Biography 
Chandrashekhar Dubey, popularly known as C. S. Dubey was a popular character artist of Bollywood cinema, active in the 1950s to 1980s. He played signature role of old crooked man in majority of his movies and was also type casted too, for similar kind of roles. Yet without any doubt, no other artist has been able to recreate the same magic of a wicked old man on Bollywood screen as Dubey did. Known for his negative shaded roles, he played money lenders, pimps and rapists on silver screen frequently. He became famous for his one-liner, Zinda Dil (1975). "Dhakkan khol ke" was that popular one liner, which he later used in his radio programs, as a suffix with almost every sentence.
He was born on September 4, 1924. Dubey got associated with film world doing small jobs in the early 1950s. He did the role of as an office boy, production manager etc before his acting debut. He first worked with film maker Amiya Chakravarty. Started his acting career doing small roles in the 1950s, Dubey rose to prominence in 1960s and 1970s too. Patita (1953) marked his film debut and he played small roles in 1955 films - Mr. & Mrs. '55 and also Seema. He appeared in around 200 Hindi films till his death in 1993. Angoor (1982), Teesri Kasam (1966) and Aandhi (1975) are among his best roles. He also worked as assistant director in Bollywood during his early days.
His memorable movies and performances include - Raja Jani, Banarasi Babu, Saudagar, Sanyasi, Dus Numbri, Immaan Dharam, Ghar Ho To Aisa, Narasimha, Dalaal, Hum Paanch, Daag, Bin Badal Barsaat, Teesri Kasam, Khilona, Pagla Kahin Ka, Humjoli, Sanjog, Rocky, Teesri Aankh, Dharam Kanta, Angoor, Sapnon Ka Saudagar, Coolie, Ram Ki Ganga, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Mard, Ghar Sansar, Zalzala, Shirdi Ke Sai Baba, Dream Girl, Sailaab, Hatya: The Murder, Sharaabi etc.
