Banita Sandhu is a budding actress associated with Bollywood cinema, who marked her acting debut with 2018 critically acclaimed film, October directed by Shoojit Sircar, and produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar. She played the female lead in the film opposite Varun Dhawan, and her role as Shiuli Iyer, Dan's subordinate trainee in a hotel earned her praises. The movie was a commercial and critical success, though belonging to offbeat genre. Banita is a model by profession, who shot to fame with Vodafone U TB ad commercial, and Doublemint’s “Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se” song. She started acting in TV serials at very young age.

Banita Sandhu is a UK born model-actress with Indian roots. She was born into a Sikh-Punjabi family, who resides in the Caerleon, Wales, United Kingdom. She started her acting career with television serials, and was seen as a child actor since the age of 11. She later turned a successful model, and appeared in many popular advertisements. She bagged her first lead role at the age of 20, through the movie October. She was casted as female lead in the film. She is pursuing her graduation at King’s College, London.

She was spotted by screenwriter Juhi Chaturvedi, while doing a Doublemint ad commercial with her. Juhi wrote the script of October, and that’s how Banita received her first film offer. A fan of Lana Del Rey, she loves pizzas and cakes. Currently she is a full-time model and actress who is pursuing her graduation in UK. Welsh actress Banita Sandhu grew up watching the movies of Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She loves to do movies with Aamir Khan, Irrfan Khan and Alia Bhatt, as their characters are more realistic. Banita has been appreciated a lot for her work in 'October', and she is looking forward for more roles.
