Babushan Mohanty Biography

Babushan Mohanty, popularly known as Babushan is an Oriya film actor. His real name is Tanmay Mohanty. Known for his chocolate looks, he made his acting debut through Hara Pattanaik's Romeo – The Lover Boy. The movie also marked his singing debut in the year 2009. Since then he has played romantic hero in many Oriya films. Many of those films are adapted scripts of south Indian super hits. Loafer, Prema Adhei Akshyara, Sanju Aau Sanjana, Love Master etc are the best instances of such Telugu remakes. In 2015 he acted in Jie Jaha Kahu Mora Dho, Oriya remake of Hindi blockbuster - Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.

A promising young actor of Oriya film industry, some of his upcoming flicks include - Jabardast Premika, Nakhi Nani Pua Bhagia, Love Station and Sweet Heart. Tate Bhala Pae 100 ru 100, Super Michhua, Jie Jaha Kahu Mora Dho, Lekhu Lekhu Lekhi Deli, Akhire Akhire, Daha Balunga and Dewaana Diwaani are some of his recent releases. He is the only son of Oriya matinee superstar Uttam Mohanty and his wife Aparajita Mohanty, who is also a popular actress. He was born on 30 July 1989 in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. He did his schooling from DAV Public School.

He has a huge fan following crowd and is known by the nicknames – Babu, Romeo, Young & Stylish Star, Young Sensation, Chocolate boy etc among his fans. Now he is also regarded as a superstar of Ollywood. He is a trained classical singer who started singing at the age of 10. He sings for his movies only. In 2014 he married Trupti Satapathy, his longtime girlfriend who also studied in DAV Public School.
