Atul Kasbekar Biography

Atul is an Indian fashion photographer most known for Kingfisher Calendar shoots. He is the chairman of the Photographer’s Guild of India. He is also the brand ambassador for the Panasonic Lumix range of cameras and Carl F. Bucherer watches at present. Since 2003 Atul has been the part of prestigious Kingfisher Calender shoots featuring leading stars of Indian silver screen in his unique way. He has done shot ten editions of Kingfisher Calendar till now. They have been shot at Mauritius (2003), Thailand (2004), South Africa (2005), Australia (2006), France-French Riviera (2007), Goa, Andaman, Ladakh and Udaipur (2008), Andaman Sea (2009), Maldives (2010), Mauritius (2011) and Negombo-Sri Lanka (2012). Atul has already worked with many corporate honchos including Ratan Tata, Vijay Mallya and Anil Ambani. He is the first Indian to win the prestigious International Food and Beverage Creative Excellence Awards, held at London in 2005.

 
Atul was born on 22 April 1965 in Mumbai. He studied at Campion Schooland Jai Hind College, Mumbai. He joined Institute of Chemical Technology for further studies, but dropped the studies in between. He graduated in year 1988 from the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, USA. He was the topper that year. Then he took one year training in Los Angeles and gained experience by working as assistant with Dennis Gray, Ron Slenzak, James B Wood, Jay Silverman, Jay P Morgan, Bill Werts and David Le Bon.

 
He returned to India in 1990. In 1991 he started his professional career as a photographer by starting a studio named Negative Space. He gained attention with the photo shot for Kingfisher and it helped to stay at the top slot of Indian photographers. He started another company, Corporate Image, which manages the identity of the top management and spokespersons within an organization.
