Arvind Krishna (cinematographer) Biography

Arvind Krishna is a cinematographer and actor associated with south Indian film industry. Though known as a cinematographer he has also done a few character roles and guest appearances for Tamil movies such as Kurudhipunal, Kandukondain Kandukondain, Poi Solla Porom, Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai, It’s My Love Story etc and Malayalam films such as God's Own Country and Peruchazhi. He worked as a cinematographer for both these movies also. Kaadhal Kondein, Nenjam Marappathillai, Poi Solla Porom, Kuselan, 7G Rainbow Colony, Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai etc apart from a few Telugu movies. Arvind is interested in doing cameo roles for the movies for which he does the camera work.

He was born in New Delhi. His father is a film and TV serial producer who produced the serial "Adade Manohar" for Doordarshan. He also owned a film lab called “Aarkay Home Movies” and a production company called “Ark Media”. Arvind too has produced a TV show, Dharmayutham (2012) for Star Vijay. Arvind’s childhood days were spent in the metro cities – Delhi and Chennai. He completed his schooling from Vidya Mandir, Mylapore, Chennai. He also took Master’s in Visual Communication from Loyola College, Chennai.

He worked as an assistant to ace cinematographer P.C.Sreeram for six long years. He assisted him in movies apart from ad campaigns. He met film director Selvaraghavan who gave him the first break to movies as an independent cinematographer through the film - Kaadhal Kondein in 2003. The movie featured Selvaraghavan’s younger brother Dhanush in the lead role and it gave big break to many artists including the director, lead actors as well as cinematographer. Arvind worked with the same director for the hit movies such as 7G Rainbow Colony. Associated with film industry for more than 15 years, Nibunan and Nenjam Marappathillai are his latest works.
