Arindam Roy Biography

Arindam Roy, also known as Rishi Roy in Tollywood is a film actor who works in Odia film industry. He is also a film producer, model and media personality. He made his debut with Prema Rutu Asilare in 2006, and won state award for best actor for the debut film itself. He is one of the highest-paid actors in Ollywood (Odia film industry) and one of the most sought heroes. In 2013, he earned his second state award for best actor for the Odia movie, Mu Raja Tu Rani. In 2012, he received Best Actor for the movie Raja Jhia Sange Heigala Bhaba by ETV. Arindam Roy acted in more than 30 films, almost all in lead hero roles and one of the reigning stars of Odia cinema.

He was born on 3 March 1984 in Cuttack, Odisha. He made his acting debut in the Odia film Prema Rutu Asilare, in 2006. The movie was produced by Brajaraj Movies and was directed by Sudhanshu Sahu. He rose to stardom with his debut movie itself, and very soon he conquered new skies in the field of Oriya cinema. He also turned a successful producer of the film industry. He bagged state award for best actor for his debut film, indeed a great feat to achieve.

Arindam Roy went on to deliver many hits in Odia language in a row, and cemented his position in the industry. Kali Shankar, Mitare Mita, Gud Boy, Parsuram, Kalki, Ishq Tu Hi Tu, and Tora Dine Ku Mora Dine are some of his major hits. In 2008 he marked his Bengali film debut with Tomar Jonyo. He is known as Rishi Roy in Tollywood.
