Anil Eswar Biography

Anil Eswar is a south Indian cinematographer from Kerala, known for his works in Malayalam and Telugu films. He is also associated with ad world, events and stage shows, where he handles camera. He started his career in cinematography with Dolls, a 2013-film directed by Shalil Kallur, and till now has handled the camera for 6 films. He also worked as Associate cameraman for 2015 National award winning Malayalam film, Pathemari. He is mostly associated with directors of offbeat films, and his works basically can’t be tagged in a commercial belt. Poottu in 2017 was his last work as a cinematographer and the movie was directed by National award winning film director Rajeevnath. He is currently Dubai based.

His real name is Anil Vadakkekkara. He started his career as Still Photographer during 1997-98 working with national award winning director Ambili. He worked as News Cameraman in Amrita TV in UAE for 6 years. He handled camera for various kinds of needs, not just cinema. He was associated with Ad-world, working for ad films and corporate films, Stage Shows & Events, Short Films etc being other specialization streams. Currently he works as broadcast journalist of Koumudi TV heading news and programs producing in Middle East.

As a cinematographer of Indian films, he marked his debut with Malayalam film - Dolls in 2013. It was followed by Saigal Padukayanu, Kattumakkan, Moonam Naal Njyayarazhcha and Poottu. In 2016 he has done the camera work of one Telugu movie titled – Gulf directed by Sunilkumar Reddy. He worked as an associate of Madhu Ambat in 2016 for Mammootty starrer, Pathemari. Though he has done a few films, he is mostly associated with ad films and live shows in UAE.
