Anandhi (actress) Biography

Anandhi is a south Indian film actress who made debut with Telugu film Bus Stop in 2012 in a character role of a flirt - Seema and later moved to Tamil cinema, where she earned huge fan following crowd and popularity.  She played female lead in Vetrimaaran's production Poriyaalan and Prabhu Solomon's Kayal, which earned critics’ appreciation as well as box office success. Kayal earned her a nomination at Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress. Though she appeared in a few Telugu movies, she earned success through Tamil movies.

Anandhi’s real name is Rakshita and she was born on 20 July 1993 in Warangal, of present state Telangana.  It was actress Sri Divya’s debut movie too and Anandhi shined in the supporting role she played on screen. The movie was a commercial hit and earned appreciation from critics alike. Critics stated that she has a promising career ahead if she plans her career properly. Very soon she bagged her first lead role - Priyathama Neevachata Kushalama, where she was casted opposite Varun Sandesh. The movie received negative responses from critics and was a box office failure. Her third release Green Signal was also a box office flop.

She signed her first Tamil movie Poriyaalan in 2013. She was paired with Harish Kalyan. Once released the movie received positive responses from viewers and critics and Anandhi’s performance was appreciated. Very soon she signed her second Tamil movie with director Prabhu Solomon of Mynaa fame. The movie set against the backdrop of the 2004 tsunami received comments from critics as "feel-good love story" and was a box office hit. The actress was nominated at several award functions for her outstanding performance. She had two releases in 2015 - Trisha Illana Nayanthara and Chandi Veeran and both fell miserably well at box office. Faisal, Pandigai and Visaranai are her upcoming movies.
