Achyuth Kumar Biography

Achyuth Kumar is a much-sought character artist of Kannada film industry. He has also done a couple of films in Tamil, including K V Anand's Ko. Achyuth started his professional career with television for a serial of highly acclaimed director, Girish Kasaravalli. His dual performance as Shankranna, the theatre owner, and as the film-star's manager in Lucia in 2013 earned him critics’ and viewers appreciation and he bagged a couple of awards as well. He won Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor, apart from a nomination at SIIMA awards. Hejjegalu released the same year earned him Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Sidlingu in 2012 is another noted performance. He has won three Filmfare awards till now.

Achyuth did an acting course at Ninasam in the Shimoga district and has also worked as a stage actor before he entered film industry. He first started off with a television serial directed by Girish Kasaravalli before he bagged his debut film - Aa Dinagalu in 2007. He also appeared in television series - Moodala Mane and Preethi Illada Mele. In 2009, he bagged his first Filmfare award for best supporting actor for the movie – Josh. Since then he became a full-fledged actor and there was no turning back after that. He is one of the most sought character artists of Kannada cinema at present.

Apart from Kannada films, he has also appeared in a couple of Tamil films. 2013 film Lucia was his real career breakthrough, where he played a double role. He shared screen space with the actor Sathish Ninasam for this movie. With a handful of movies - Masterpiece, Prema Pallakki, Sharpshooter, Rocket, Geetha Bangle Store, Muddu Manase, Prema Pallakki, Plus, Bettanagere and Aatagara are his latest releases. His upcoming movies are - Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu, Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu, Ricky and Devara Naadalli.
