Wajid Khan Biography

Wajid Khan is an Indian artist best known as a portraitist, painting and sculptor from Madhya Pradesh. He is specialized in carving canvas with nails, and is also an inventor and patent holder. For his nail art his name has been included in Guinness Book of World Records, Limca Book of Records, and Asia Book of Records. Shadow art, metal art, stone art and kinetic art are other forms of art with which he is associated to. His art works have been placed at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Madhya Pradesh administration office and many other government offices, and private places too. Most recently he has Sardar Patel's shadow art at Madhya Pradesh administration office, though there were multiple demands for the installation at different places.

 

Wajid Khan was born on 10 March 1981 in Songiri, Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. He is married to Maryam Siddiqui since 2010. Currently he is based in Indore. Khan had very humble beginnings. But through his talent, hard work and dedication, he became a successful artist and inventor at a very young age. During his younger days he used to drive a tempo for a living and slept in paths.

 

He is an inventor who has designed many scientific types of machinery and tools and is the patent holder for on nail art or nail painting. In 2005 he completed his first nail painting of Mahatma Gandhi and it took three years to complete it. Later he created nail painting of many Indian celebrities related to the fields of politics, art and cinema. He is credited to designing the world's smallest iron, at the age of only 14. This achievement was entered in Guinness Book of World Records. He also made world's first 3D painting during his teens. He is also a rugby player, animator and a philanthropist.
