Vishal Sikka Biography 
Vishal Sikka is a Business Executive. On 12th June 2014, Infosys names Vishal Sikka as first external CEO. It is for the first time the company has not chosen one of its founders for the role. Executive Chairman N.R. Narayana Murthy and Executive Vice Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan would step down on June 14 from India's second-largest IT services exporter. At least 11 senior members have step down in the short period of one year. Sikka is the former SAP AG executive board member. Sikka will take over from current Chief Executive S.D. Shibulal, one of the founding members of the IT organization. Sikka left the SAP board in May 2014 for "personal reasons".
He was born in Vadodara in 1967. His father worked in Indian railways. He completed Computer engineering at M S University, Baroda and took B. S from Syracuse University. He also completed PhD from Stanford University in 1996. He started his professional career with Xerox's research labs and later founded iBrain which was acquired by PatternRX, Inc. Then he started Bodha.com and also joined Peregrine Systems as area Vice-President for Platform Technologies, when Bodha.com was acquired.
Sikka joined SAP in 2002 and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Architecture and Chief Software Architect later. In 2007, he became the first CTO of the organization and became an executive member in 2010, following the resignation of Léo Apotheker. On 4 May 2014 he announced his resignation as the Executive Board Member for Products and Innovation. . On 12th June 2014, Infosys announced Vishal Sikka as first external CEO of the organization.
