Sunil K. Dutt Biography 
Sunil K. Dutt, also known as Sunil Dutt is a renowned photographer and photojournalist from Kolkata, West Bengal. He is best known for chronicling the life and work of Mother Teresa's past three decades till her death. He has also chronicled his city Kolkata, in different moods at different times. His works were regularly featured in leading journals and magazines across India, and he has been honoured multiple times in India and abroad. As of now, he has spent more than 50 years in the field of photography and photojournalism. Robir Aloy Alokchitro, Durga Puja, Amay Gach Kore Dao, Shantiniketan, Mother Teresa - Down Memory Lane etc are some of his pictorial books.
Sunil Dutt was born in Kolkata in 1939. Since young he was inspired by Swami Vivekananda. He studied at Surendranath College, Kolkata. Later he started writing for various magazines. When he was writing in Dr. Karuna Mukherjee's magazine Gharani, he was advised to give visual support also. That’s how he got into photography. He started taking photographs and added to his articles to make them more attractive. Later he completely switched over from writing to photography and also worked as a photojournalist.
When he was new to the world of photography, he was appointed to take Mother Teresa's photographs by the editor of Junior Statesman. This assignment was the turning point of Dutt's career. Since then he documented the life of Mother Teresa through his photographs for the next three decades till her death in 1997. Till now, he is best known for this work. When a book on Mother Teresa - Something Beautiful for God was published for the first time, many of his photographs were featured in this book. He received Christopher Award from New York in 1971. He was chosen as one of the ten "best photojournalists of the world" by Photographic Society of America in 1987.
