Navaneeth Unnikrishnan Biography 
Navaneeth Unnikrishnan is a young Amateur Astronomer and Astrophotographer from Thalassery, Kerala. Many of his images have been published in Magazines and websites including National Geographic, BBC Earth, Space.com etc, and he is a winner of photography conducted by National Geographic Traveller India and National Students Space Challenge by IIT Kharagpur in 2014-2015. He started photography as a hobby. Initially he used a basic Canon DSLR to capture pictures and later specialized in imaging Deep Sky Objects. Currently he is one of the leading young Astrophotographers from Indian subcontinent.
Navaneeth Unnikrishnan hails from Thalassery, Kannur district, Kerala. He was born as the child of Unnikrishnan K. K and Geetha on 14 March 1992. His younger days were spent in Oman before he moved back to his hometown. Since young he was deeply interested in astronomy, and later his passion became his profession. He was interested in photography also. He started photography with a very basic Canon camera, and got drawn towards the art of capturing pictures. His higher studies were done in Karnataka. He holds an engineering degree. The engineering student’s romance with night skies made him a successful photographer.
Once he witnessed the Milky Way with his eyes from his backyard and captured it on camera using long exposure time. From there on, he got into astrophotography, a profession that he carries till now. A self-taught photographer he later shot deep sky objects using telescopes, and his images started appearing in international magazines. He is also featured by Snapdeal among India's Finest Photographers. Through experiments, analysis and self-study he learnt a lot about the subject of astrophotography, and finally succeeded in this field. Capturing the beauty of the universe from his home in Kerala, he has been into this field for the past 5 years or so.
