Mayur Madhvani Biography 
Mayur Madhvani is a Ugandan businessman, entrepreneur, and industrialist of Indian origin. He is the son of famous businessman and industrialist Muljibhai Madhvani, who formed the conglomerate Madhvani Group. Though Mayur is a very successful businessman he is best known to Indians as the husband of diva of Bollywood yesterdays, Mumtaz, who gave several super hit movies aside the first superstar of Bollywood Rajesh Khanna in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The couple’s daughter Natasha is married to Bollywood star, Fardeen Khan, son of Feroz Khan and nephew of actors Sanjay Khan and Akbar Khan.
Mayur was born in Kakira, Uganda in 1945. He is the youngest son of business typhoon Muljibhai Madhvani who founded the Madhvani Group in 1930. Mayor has four elder brothers. In 1972, when Uganda dictator Idi Amin expelled all Asians from Uganda, Mayur along with family members were forced to relocate to London. Two years later he married the ruling queen of Bollywood, Mumtaz. Mumtaz was at her career peak when she got married and she settled with her family life after that. The couple had two daughters.
After Amin was deposed in 1979, Madhvani’s family returned back to Uganda, reclaimed their assets and flourished their family business once again. After a short period, Mayur Madhvani became the Joint Managing Director of Kakira Sugar Works (KSW), the flagship company of the Madhvani Group. As a successful businessman Mayur steered Kakira Sugar Works to become the largest producer of refined sugar in East Africa.
He diversified with his business and spearheaded co-generation of electricity at Kakira. He also tasted success as a businessman through diversified business fields like insurance, construction and hospitality, agriculture etc. Currently Madhvani Group is one of the 10 leading family business groups in Africa.
