John D Silva Biography 
John D’ Silva is an actor based in Goa, who appears in Konkani movies as well as plays. He is one of the top most comedians of Konkani stage. He is also known for his tiatrs such as ‘Vell’ which remains popular still now, even after 20 years. In the tiatr scene, he is widely regarded to be a legendary figure, who achieved success within a short time span. John is the first tiatrist to enter the "Limca Book of Records 2010" and his name was entered for acting, writing, directing and producing 25 tiatrs, with their titles having a double Alphabet in it.
John D’ Silva was born in Goa. Currently he is settled in Salcete, Goa. Nicknamed as the Emperor of the Konkani stage – teatro, an early variation of theatre with some musical inputs, he brought new dimensions to Goan theatre scene. He excelled as tiatrist, an actor and comedian, while he also wrote a few plays. John has also worked in a few films and short films as an actor. Initially he was mostly associated with serious roles, character roles and grey shaded roles. He switched to comedy only in 1999 when he played the main comedy role in his Tiatr "Umannem". The show became an instant hit, and since then he mostly played comic roles on stage.
Today, he is regarded among the top Konkani comedians and also a gifted Konkani playwright. His 25th tiatr "Nattok" was staged in foreign countries like UK and Germany, and he is one of the early artists to take tiatrs outside inside. Vell, Bovall, Kirnnnam, Porddo, Dennem, Ekvott, Vatt, Umannem, Sokallim, Menn, Avessor, Bott, Somzonni, Magnnem, Suknnim, Ugddas, Konn?, Vann, Vaitt, Jinn, Dhull, Xidkavnni, Voddem, Kolle and Nattok are the taitrs which brought his laurels.
