Baba Kalyani Biography 
Babasaheb Neelkanth Kalyani, shortly called Baba Kalyani is a businessman and executive who early served as the chairman and MD of Bharat Forge, the flagship company of the Kalyani Group. He is the founding chairman of Pratham Pune Education Foundation, one of the largest educational organization groups of the country known for providing education for under privileged group. For his overall contributions to Indian Trade and Industry, Indian government has honoured him with Padma Vibhushan.
He was born in Pune in the year 1949. He took a degree in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani and took MS degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Kalyani joined Bharat Forge in 1972. Apart from India, its manufacturing units have been spread in USA, Germany, Sweden, and China when he joined the group. He became successful in export business of automobile components to China in 2002. Bharat Forge became India’s largest exporter of automotive components for eight consecutive years and majority of sales were recorded as exports. At present Bharat Forge is the world's second-largest forgings manufacturer after Thyssen Krupp of Germany. He has completed 27 years in business field.
He serves as the Managing Director of Bharat Forge Limited since 1993 and also serves as its Chairman. He manages Kalyani Steels Ltd., BF Utilities Ltd. of Nandi Highway Developers Limited and BF Investment. He also serves as Non-Executive Chairman of Kalyani Carpenter Special Steels Ltd. and Automotive Axles Ltd. He is the recipient of the Prestigious National Press Award, 1995. Global Entrepreneur of the year' award by JMCCI in 2006 and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year - Manufacturing in 2005 are the major awards received by him.
