We need changes

A lot has to change in India for it to grow and prosper and provide a better life for its people. The people are equally to blame as the politicians and bureaucrats for the current condition. The ethical standards in the country have to improve to bring about change. Often, religiosity masks corrupt behavior. Corrupt politicians are elected based on false promises and segmentation of society into voting blocs also called vote-bank, based on caste, religion and regional differences (I don’t think I need to supply the name of such parties). 

The Real problem- Jugad

The problem in India is that successive governments of this country have hidden behind self made problems like British rule, partition and poverty as for escaping from the reality of having to face up issues and trying to find solutions for getting rid of the problems. This mentality has done nothing good but led to blame game and left for someone else to fix it.

Does anyone believe that India at this stage cannot solve malnutrition? No, it’s not due to lack of food but due to lack of capacity to work systematically in an orderly and systemic manner. If you ask any Indian they will only say there is so much poverty but we cannot solve it since our government is corrupt, not willing to work or maybe some other excuse. Indians have become really expert in excuse making, we also call this term as Jugad. (If you wish to know what is Jugad, go search it in Google) 

National Pride

I think that still applies to ruling class that they are not in habit of looking at the grass root problems. We all know reason for malnutrition is the lack of female education and in certain quarters that a male child is given more food than the female ones. No proper storage facilities and distribution malfunctioning is another cause. Poor infrastructure enables pilferage and hoarding. These have to be addressed for improving the lot of the poor. Efficient bureaucrats are harassed for not following their political bosses. We have to understand and weakness and overcome them.

Conclusion

So what should we do? Should we carry on life as it is until the next crises arises in our life and we take temporary refuge in blaming system or others but do not take the trouble to change the system? I Hope, we all get up right now and start working for better future, now.
