Rajinikanth is considered as the superstar as he has reached great heights in Tamil film industry and no one could take that place until now. The path he walked is not smooth and it would be amazing to know that he worked in various odd jobs as a clerk, as a bus conductor and as a coolie before he entered the film industry. Those who know him personally would understand his humane characteristics and rare qualities that are to be seen in a man of such great popularity. He is popular for his mannerisms that he was used to it during his days of working as a bus conductor, he used to blow whistle with style and issue tickets with an elegance that will attract everyone.

 

When he entered the film industry, he could come up soon as an action hero. He was always naïve and humble. When a cigarette company approached him for a commercial in 1975, he wondered and asked openly why they should hire him and whether he was that popular. He shows gratitude to the Tamil people for putting him on great heights. He is running many charitable trusts and institutions and no one can easily measure his worth.

 

He was born as one among six children in a middle class Maharashtrian family in Karnataka. When he worked as the bus conductor, he participated in the role of Duryothana in the play that was organized during the annual meeting of the transport corporation. His performance made everyone dumbstruck and his friends encouraged him to take up acting as his career. An advertisement by the Chennai film institute attracted him and he joined there with the help of the money donated to him by his friends.

 

The veteran director K. Balachander gave him the name of Rajinikanth and it was he who spotted him and introduced him in the film industry. At that time, his dreams were not high and all he wanted was a Vespa scooter and a small house and some money to buy cigarettes. When he was paid more to the extent of 5 lakhs per film, he went into bad company and valued women and drugs very much. But when Latha entered his life as wife, his attitude changed a lot. She came to meet him for an interview for her college magazine and later came into his life also.

 

His spiritual inclination and respect for great saints made him build a marriage hall in Chennai in the name of Raghavendra whom he love and adore most. He also has great respect to Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Ramana Maharishi. He funds the education of the poor and also helps the old cinema artists by offering them chance in his movie and by providing them financial support.

 

Rajinikanth opposed Jayalalith during the 1996 elections and played a major role in making DMK and TMC come under a single roof. Everyone expected that he will plunge into active politics. His punch dialogues in many films asserted this. But he preferred to stay away from the political field. He is a religious man and visits Rishikesh often. The kids used to imitate his mannerisms. He continues to be the superstar of Tamil Nadu and Rajinikanth photos and Rajinikanth videos are liked by people irrespective of their ages.
