You should know abut your washing soaps

Women suffering from small cuts, rashes or allergies after laundry especially the ones who do it manually, is a common problem due to substances present in soap they use. Our skin has a thin layer of oil to protect us from bad effects of chemicals, bacteria to enter in our body to certain extent and dryness but soap cleans dust and this oily layer. However while the harsh substances present in your soap destroy the protective oily layer that becomes the cause of allergies.

The allergies related to soap are reaction of quality of alkalis used in soap manufacturing. Here are those five ingredients used for manufacturing soaps, which may cause skin related allergies-

1- Sodium Lauryl sulfate- This particular substance is main ingredient responsible for froth an aggregation of bubbles, cleans oil or grease but breaks protective layer of oil from skin as well.

2- Fragrances- Soap manufacturers use different fragrances in their products to give these products uniqueness but some of these are allergen for particular users since manufacturers do not mention these ingredients on their products suspecting copy of their popular products make it impossible to know the substances creating allergic problems.

3- Diethanolamide coco- This is detergent made of coconut that helps make stable leather.

4- Parabens- These are basic chemicals used for preservation particularly in soap industry (also in pharmaceutical sector) can cause allergies in certain cases.  

5- Balsam of Peru- Is a resin used in cosmetic industry mainly to prevent bad smells and evaporation from soaps and other cosmetic products but can cause allergies to certain people.

Symptoms of soap related allergies

You can easily find out the reason for your allergies caused by soap-

a- Small cut marks in your palms

b- Small rashes or blisters

c- Pain and itching

d- Dryness or cracked skin

e- In some cases, the symptoms could appear in form of eczema but in most cases, rashes are the main symptoms. 

Precautions

You can keep allergies away by taking some of the precautionary measures-

* Use gloves while washing clothes or cleaning utensils

* Use moisturizers whenever you find your skin is dry

* Keep infected area dry

* Papaya seeds, olive oil mixed with lemon juice an effective and soothing homemade remedy provided you are not allergic to any of these items.

* Select your detergents and soaps carefully especially people with sensitive skin must go for mild alkali products.
