Pulsar 220 Vs Duke

The Indian motorcycle circuit is heating up with two amazing high performance bikes, both a cousins from the  Bajaj stable, a company that has created more than 50,00 biking enthusiasts, with every new generation, they have only fanned the fires in the hearts of their followers.

The pulsar 200 NS is the trendiest, fastest and most amazing bike ever. It has racing inspired front lights, amazing side skirts, the tank has aggressive lines with enough space to tuck ones knees in while riding hard. The split tail lamps are fine but a little old school. It also offers a shift lamp in the instrument panel. This pulsar is an amazing performer, it is quick and peppy, and the 200 NS is quick and exciting. The 3 spark plugs and 4 valves help it go from 0 to 100 in 11.3 seconds, a healthy 2 seconds less than the 220 F. the other big plus is the crisp and confident handling. It is all because of the 37mm front. The dynamics combined with the meaty motor make the 200 NS an amazing bike. The only problem in this bike is the TVS tyres. The heavy feel at the handle bar and a confidence to lean over leaves it a sure winner. The responsive motor, lenient power delivery and crisp throttle makes this bike a winner. The amazing suspension and well cushioned seat is amazing for a racing bike.

Now it’s time to look at its cousin, its 85,000 Rs price tag makes it the most promising bike, but that’s till you look at the Duke!

The engines have a lot in common, same valves, transmission, exhaust etc. but since the NS is carbureted, it lacks a little power compared to the Duke. The duke beats the NS by .4 seconds to the 60km mark but the real difference is seen when the machines are pushed to the 100 km test, the duke is ahead by almost 2 seconds. The duke feels so very urgent and peppy; one can almost fall in love with the machine. But the dukes 43mm upside down forks, a cast alloy unit at the rear, the MRF rubber on the duke, the steel braided hoses in the front discs. All of these make the bike an amazing buy!!

Our verdict, pay a little more but buy the Duke!!
