2012 December 21 – The day which everyone feared to be the end of the world passed by without much fuss and fumes! Though all of us logically thought that such a thing is never going to happen, everyone was eager to see the dawn break of 22^nd December, no doubt! Yet we can’t deny the fact that at least a few superstitious people existed among us who believed Mayan calendar a little bit. Truth or myth, this rumour gained popularity very quickly, especially after the release of the Hollywood movie ‘2012’. This movie brought that rumour to limelight, no doubt!

After that, whole world, magazines, TV channels and media opened their eyes wide to wait for that day. According to astrology, Sun aligns with the centre of the Milky Way in 26K years and night appears more durable in North Pole as sun reaches the south. This time a gigantic black hole also comes in the same line, and at the same moment, many comets from Oort zone fly at supersonic speed and the planet X will collide with sun. It was the prediction. As a result, explosions, volcano irruptions, hurricane and tsunamis will rule the whole world resulting in the death of everything. This rumour spread worldwide through net and media. From illiterate peasant of Africa to top scientists of NASA, all observed that day seriously and it turned out to be nothing short than a prank of April 1^st!

What was told in Mayan Calendar?

The main problem started with Mayan calendar. Mayans were tribal people who lived in Middle America before 2300 years. According to Archio astronomers’ opinion, Mayans were highly intelligent people. Referring solar movements, they divided a year into 365 days. 260 days based on lucks and fortunes was also included in this calendar. They made this calendar beautiful using different shapes and pictures. They had deep knowledge about the paths of sun, moon and other planets. If we compare their intelligence with that time, it was beyond our imagination – just extra-ordinary.

According to their calculation one phase of time ends on December 21^st, 2012. It was similar to December 31^st of Gregorian calendar when one’s end marks the beginning of next year. If we don’t buy a new calendar, it doesn’t mean that New Year is not going to happen. But this problem didn’t end here. From ancient time itself, man began to think about end of this world. it appeared as articles, stories, TV serials, movies and books and were circulated the whole world to gain crores as profits. But it created fear in man’s mind too!
