Indoor Plants To Add Green To Your Interior

Many persons are among us who love nature and its green a lot. But time and space-less courtyards are those facts that tempt them not to start a green garden. For such persons, indoor plants is the nice choice. Many people often misunderstand that indoor plants love darkness only and that they hate sunlight most. But it’s not the case. As usual plants indoor plants also need sunlight as shower. Through this column let me give a few more useful tips to prevent you from mistakes while you plant a few plants in your interior.

Now let me give you a nice tip. If you clean green leaves of your plants with cotton dipped in glycerin, it adds extra shine to the leaves. You can experiment with milk-water solution too. To make your plant fresh in a moment or two, pouring a little castor oil in the soil and sprinkling a few drops of water after that is the best method. You will surely get quick results within minutes.

Like normal plants, they can also become sick. Indicator is pale yellow leaves. Main reason behind is the absence of sunlight. If so, you can place your plant near window or open courtyard. But never place it directly under sunlight. Indirect sunlight is the best option for indoor plants. It’s a nice idea to get them exposed to sunlight once in every week or 10 days. It avoids the appearing of white patches on leaves. If not possible, best alternative is artificial light though not as effective as normal sunlight.

In many homes, you can find courtyards in the middle of home. You can give green net roofs and place a few indoor plants in the passages or corridors. The plants will get sufficient sunlight and glow in the natural presence on sun too. As indoor plants are placed in interior of your home never over-water them. If so their leaves will appear grey or yellow at lower parts of their tips. This colour change indicator may be due to absence of moisture too.

Indoor plants are mainly categorized into three types – plants which grow in open courtyard, closed courtyard or inside room. Bonsai, money plant and lucky bamboo can be used as indoor plants. Though indoor plants look nice for living rooms, it’s not good for bedrooms as per Vasthu. They give out carbon dioxide at night, not at all good for human health.
