Though the custom of giving Easter eggs existed in ancient times, there is no clear idea, from when this strange practice has started. Emperor Frederick Thomsun of 16th century used to give colorful eggs made of sugar and rice to all those who visited church on Easter day. The eggs resembled eggs of hens and ducks a lot. He used to hide gold coins in a few eggs and lucky people used to get it.  In 17th century Solomon smith of England used to shade colors on boiled eggs and disperse them to everyone. Bible quotes with Easter messages were written on those eggs. ‘Christ will return’, ‘Death where are you?’, ‘Death, you have failed’, ‘Death, where did you win?’ – Quotes with such meanings were written on those eggs. After that king used to conduct contests and winners were awarded with Easter eggs made of Gold.
