Katrina Kaif – The face of modern girl and modern India who endorses many products and seen as the youth of India is a successful actress too. Though her first movie ‘Boom’ bombed at box office, this lady worked a lot and brought a lot of improvements in her acting skills as well as delivering dialogues. By luck, as she is paired with super stars of Bollywood, she is getting success too. But what to say, still she appears as a Barbie doll in emotional scenes with a wax face, not willing to carry with the scene.

As a modern girl or dancer, she is OK. She is a visual delight onscreen when her foot tapping numbers are in full screen mode. She looks nice in her costumes and makeup too. Yet I feel, as an actress she needs to start from primary class. How many great actresses have we seen in the past 100 years of Indian cinema! If closely watched through the success movies of some successful heroines, she can surely bring some improvisations in her character and improvements in acting skills for sure. Yet I can’t deny the fact that she has done pretty well in the movie – New York, aside John Abraham. As an actress, if she deserves the right to point at any one of her powerful performances till now, no doubt ‘New York’ comes first. The movie ‘My brother ki dulhan’ can also be included in the list if you please. Yet we can see many flaws in her acting skills, though looks onscreen. Obviously both these movies gave her a Filmfare nomination though she couldn’t win at last. Her performances in Salaam Namasthe and Ajab Prem ki gazab kahani were also ok. In Salaam Namasthe, her outfits and her own dubbed voice surely have done justice to her role as a British girl.

In all her movies, she is noticed for her looks and dance numbers than as a serious heroine, for sure. You can take instance of any hit movie of Katrina – Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Ek Tha Tiger, Race, Welcome, Singhh is King or Partner. Was there any instance in anyone of these movies in at least one scene, where we saw Katrina as an actress than a model? Not at all! She needs to improve a lot.
