Sachin Tendulkar has many records to his name and most of them have come in the form of batting. He has scored the most number of centuries in one day internationals as well as in Test matches. He is the only batsman to have scored 100 international tons. Sachin Tendulkar is the first batsman to score a double century in ODIs. Sachin Tendulkar is the first player to be given out - run out, when the third umpire was first introduced by the ICC. Sachin Tendulkar is the only cricketer who was given out LBW (Leg Before Wicket) when the ball had actually hit him on the shoulders. Sachin Tendulkar is the first- the records continue unabated.

There is no doubt that Sachin Tendulkar is a record man. There are so many records in his name that it itself is a record. However, there was one unique record when India and Australia started their third Test in Mohali. Ever since Tendulkar played his first ever international way back in 1989 against Pakistan, Tendulkar has seen as many as 89 players put on the Test cap for India. Now, isn't that an amazing record! This simply means Sachin has seen these 89 players play with him, retire from cricket or will be there after he himself retires. And it is certain that there will be some more making their debut when he is still there. When Dhawan got the Test cap for India, he became the 277th cricketer to play at least a Test match for India. Players like Rahul Dravid and Saurav Ganguly had made their international appearance after Sachin had made his debut. These two players are called the veteran cricketers of India. This simply gives the idea of how big the stature of Sachin Tendulkar is. Currently, he is playing his 197th Test match and that too is a record.

He has also appeared in the most number of One Day Internationals (ODIs) too. That means, he is the most experienced batmen of all time the game of cricket has ever known. He still has some cricket left in him and it is certain that there will be still some records that will be written in the name of the God of cricket - Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.
