One of the most important cities of the Indian state of Gujarat is that of Vadodara. This was also known as Baroda earlier on and is also one of the important commercial and business centers of the state. This is also the base of operations for important and well known companies like General Motors, Chevrolet, Larsen and Toubro, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Reliance Industries, DuPont, ONGC and IPCL among several others.

There is however much more to the city of Vadodara than its commercial association. This is also a city of palaces and monuments, buildings and museums. It is a city of travel and festivals along with its unique spread of cuisine. Take a look at the Vadodara Museum. It was built in the year 1894 and is a place of some of the most unique collected items from across the world. Among the well known palaces of the city there are Laxmi Vilas Palace, Pratap Vilas Palace, Makarpura Palace and the Nazarbaug Palace. These are all marked by their special characteristics of architecture and collected items on display within their premises. They are regularly opened for public view and can be an enticing experience for you and your family.

There are plenty of other monuments and buildings too in Vadodara that are open for public visits and make for interesting knowledge and the historical background of the city. among these the popular ones are Kirti Mandir, Sri Aurobindo Niwas, EME temple and Kala Bhawan among several others.
