Chandragiri Fort is a historical fort that was built in 11^th century and it houses a palace called Raja Mahal within it. It was under the domination of Yadava Naidus for about three centuries and then it came under the control of Vijaynagar rulers in 1367. Then it was ruled by Saluva Narasimha Rayalu and Rayas.

At present Raja Mahal Palace has been converted into an archaeological museum. The palace has three stories built of Indo-Sarcen architectural style. It was constructed entirely with stone, brick and lime mortar without the usage of timber.
