The Tribal Museum was established on 2^nd October 1983 and it spreads over an area of 25 acres of terrain. This is dedicated to the 36 scheduled tribes of Tamil Nadu. It aims at the tribal welfare and to conduct studies on the tribal communities.

The center has a library of books and journals and a well furnished guest house. It also assists in the tribal festivals with the audio video system and has an open air tribal museum.
