Catherine Falls is located in Kotagiri and is one of the important tourist spots in Nilgiris. The water from the upper stream of Kallar river falls from a height of 250 feet. M.D. Cockburn introduced the coffee plantation to Kotagiri and the falls was named after his wife, Catherine. The original name of Catherine Falls is Geddhehaada Halla which means Foothills Dale River.
