Avalanche is a beautiful village located on the way to Upper Bhavani. The avalanche or the landslide that occurred here in 1823 gave this place the name Avalanche. This is one of the unexplored places of the Nilgiris.

There is a lake in Avalanche among the dense woodland. The flora like rhododendrons, magnolias and the orchids are seen here in abundance. Trout fishing is one of the activities carried out here. This serene spot is certainly the paradise of the nature lovers.
