National Rail Museum is situated in Chanakyapuri in New Delhi and it was opened on 1st February 1977. It spreads over 10 acres of land having both indoor and outdoor exhibits. You can enjoy the toy train ride around the site.

 

The main exhibits are Fairy Queen, the steam locomotive built in 1855, Patiala State Monorail Trainways built in 1907, Fire Engine built in 1914, Saloon of Prince of Wales built for the Prince of Wales during his visit to India, Saloon of Maharaja of Indore built for Holkar Maharaja, Saloon of Maharaja of Mysore, the personal saloon designed with teak, gold and ivory, Kalka Shimla rail bus, electric locomotive of Sir Leslie Wilson and Sir Roger Lumley and Fireless Steam Locomotive, etc.
