A visit to this place will surely take your breath away, so enticing and engrossing its beauty is. Sometimes even words fall short when you need to describe the exquisiteness of Manali. It lies embraced in the district of Kullu Valley and is one of the most prominent of all hill stations in India. Manali can be best described as a heaven on earth.


The landscape lies adorned with soaring snow clad peaks, gushing rivers, orchards and wild flowers of varied hues, gushing rivers- all incorporating to give Manali a beauty that is unmatched. However, it is the River Beas which adds to the already embedded beauty and augments the splendour of the place.


At Manali you will inevitably be in close communion with nature in all its magnificence. You can also indulge in adventurous activities like rafting, canoeing, kayaking, ski sloping, paragliding and trekking. While River Beas is ideal for all your water related ativities, Solang Nullah, Patalsu, Kothi, Rohtang Pass and Marhi offers the best ski sloping activities in the world. Trekking can be best enjoyed at Rohtang Pass and for paragliding; Solang Nullah is an ideal choice. Characterised by cool summers and heavy snowfall in winter Manali experiences a temperate climate and hence can be visited at any time of the year.


That Manali draws a large number of tourists from all over the world, every year is understandable. The place has some “must visit” spot which includes among others the Solang valley and the Rohtang pass. Religious places throng Manali, prominent among them are the Tibetan monasteries, the Manu temple and the Hadimba temple. The Manu temple is dedicated to the famous sage Manu who apparently resided in this region. Manali achieved its name from him. The Hadimba temple marked for its Pagoda style of structure is dedicated to Hadimba, the wife of the great mythological character Bhim.


The hot water springs of Manali are also added attractions. Half an hour’s walk from the town of Manali will bring you to the Vashist Springs where the hot spring is seen emerging out of the rocks at Vashist. The water of the spring is known to have medicinal value which cures different kinds of ailments. The place also has a stone temple that is dedicated to Vashist Muni.


Jagatsukh is another tourist place of importance. It is the place where most of the trekking trail begins. It is basically a large village which lies on the bank of the River Beas. There is a famous temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva.


Another place of interest which Manali offers to all the travellers is the Arjun Gufa. It is a cave which stands at a distance of 15 kilometers from Manali. As the legendary tale holds it, Arjuna practiced rigorous meditation here to gain a powerful weapon used in warfare.


Manali has to its credit many tourist places of interest. You need to visit it to see the spellbinding beauty the place has in store for all.
