The district of Kutch is in the Indian state of Gujarat and borders along the western coastal regions of the country. This is a region is alike to a wetland area that remains submerged in sea water at different times of the year. Nevertheless this is also one of the places that are ecologically bounteous with a variety of natural attractions. The place has had a old base of civilization and is thus enriched in various aspects of traditions.

There is Narayan Sarovar temple in Kutch city for you to see. This is a temple dedicated to Narayan – an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This beautiful temple is designed with fine architecture but the most attractive part is the presence of five lakes within the complex. The lakes are considered sacred and held with reverence among devotees and visitors here.

There is also the Bhadreshwar temple. This is a famous Jain temple that is a magnificently beautiful architecture of intricate carvings. Kutch is also a city of ports.  And you can see them in Mandvi Port, Mundra Port, Jakhau Port and the Kandla Port. They all have different history of their development since the ancient times and have all become extremely important and commercially active. At present these are also strategic points of the country that is under constant surveillance of the Indian Navy and the coastguards.

Kutch is also a region of beautiful indigenous handwork and craftsmanship. There is a wide variety of embroidery and weaves that is available here as part of the indigenous traditions of workmanship. There is an equal range of woodwork and artifacts available in wood and stone. You will also be mesmerized with a wide range of jewelry designs and making that is also available in the region.

There is also a vast wildlife that is available for exploring in Kutch. You can make small excursions to see wild ass sanctuary or a desert wildlife sanctuary and even bird sanctuaries at Banni grasslands and Narayan Sarovar among several others.
