Kukkal Caves is located at a distance of 40 kilometers from Kodaikanal. You have to travel by bus to Poombarai village and then take a walk through the pine forests and geranium plantations to reach the place. Hiking in the morning will be an enchanting adventure. But you have to be careful about the leeches. The traces of the earliest settled tribal people are found in the cave. In the adjoining Manjampath valley you can spot the bisons.
