Athirappilli Falls is situated on the Chalakudy River near Vazhachal Forest Division of Sholayar ranges. This is one of the popular tourist destinations of Kerala and is also nicknamed as the Niagara of India. In 1986, the Tamil movie Punnagai Mannan was filmed here and so it is also known as Punnagai Mannan Falls. The top of the waterfall could be reached through thick bamboo clusters and to reach its bottom, one has to walk through the steep narrow path.
