The Gandhi Mandapam is a place where the pot that contained the ashes of Mr.M.K.Gandhi the father of the nation was placed before a part of the ashes was immersed in the ocean. This outstanding temple is close to the Kumari Amman Temple. An interesting aspect regarding this temple is that on 2nd October every year the rays of the Sun fall precisely on the spot where the pot containing the ashes was kept.
