The district of Kangra is in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. This is a beautiful state of picturesque destinations hidden in almost every corner of its geography and Kangra valley is no exception. The location of the place is at a height of 733 meters and where tea cultivation is common. There are several accommodation options available here that will make a comfortable stay.

Kangra is also a place of many temples and museums that are a beholder of the art and craft and other interesting aspects of its culture. This is also in close proximity to Mcleodgunj which is the base of the current Dalai Lama. If you are on a trip to Kangra you can start with a look at the Kangra Art Museum.  This is a place of complete array and display of the art and craft of the region. There are unique samples of paintings and sculptures here that can be seen. There are different aspects of local life that’s displayed here in the form of costumes, jewelry and other accessories. This is also a place where important manuscripts and archaeological findings from the region are kept. You will see some of the finest pottery and even famous paintings here on display.

There are several temples that are situated in Kangra for people to visit when they are here. Some of these are well known places where thousands of pilgrims come every year. Among these the popular names are those of Jawalaji Temple, Brijeshwari Devi Temple, Chamunda Devi Temple and Baijnath Temple among several others.

There is a very systematic management that can be found in each of these temples. You will have to reach within specific timings that will vary between each of them and there will be perfect arrangement for daily views of the Goddess. There are added attractions where you will even be provided the lunch and dinner facilities along with all time supply of pure drinking water. All temples have proper roads and lighting systems on their way which makes it convenient for travelers and visitors to reach them and come back safely.

You can also make small trips and excursions to neighboring places like Mcleodgunj and Dharamsala. There are plenty of picturesque locations within these and other places to see. You will get to experience the natural beauty of Himachal Pradesh in its real appearance. There are several waterfalls that will come to view en route which are breathtakingly beautiful.

The Kangra Fort that is located in the banks of the River Banganga is another interesting place to visit in that place. This was built by Bhuma Chand and is a unique architecture design. There is another attractive destination in Kangra at Trilokpur. Here you will find an interesting limestone cave that has developed natural pillars.
