Jamshedpur, a city within the Jharkhand state in India, is a structurally well planned city which has to its credit a number of places of tourist interests. It is known to be the first cosmopolitan city in India. Even though the city is brimming with industries along its length and breadth the splendour of the tranquil natural surrounding is still widely and explicitly conveyed. This gives the city of Jamshedpur a blend of urban and rural look, a blend which raises the admiration of the people who visit the place. The city is hemmed by the Kharkai and Subarnrekha River giving a vibrant feel to the environs. The Chota Nagpur Plateau forms the base of this place lying embraced by the emerald forests of the Dalma Hills.

The city is blessed with a large number of essential mineral resources that include iron ore, coal, lime, manganese and bauxite. It is a key industrial city having within its confines a number of fundamental industries like iron and steel, tin plate, cement and truck and a number of medium and small scale ones. The city is rightly referred to as the steel city. The person behind the establishment of the Jamshedpur city is Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata hence, the name Jamshedpur. It stands as a gateway for the tourist who wants to go on a pilgrimage to the Himalayan ranges.

Co existing with the above mentioned industries is a number of tourist attractions that are worth a visit. There is the Jubilee Park, Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, Dalma Hills, Hudco Lake, Sri Dorabji Tata Park, Rivers Meet, Bhuvaneshwari Temple, Bhatia Park, Dimna Lake, Russi Modi Center of Excellence and Tata Steel Zoological Park.

A place that promises the most exotic scenery to the tourist is the River meet also known by the name of Domohani. It is located in the North Western corner of Jamshedpur where the merging of the two amazing rivers; Subarnarekha and Kharkai delivers a breathtaking view. The thick jungle of Dalma Wildlife stretching over an area of 193sq.km is home to hundreds of wildlife species. However, the most striking attraction of the city of Jamshedpur is the Jubilee Park the ambience of which transmits a serenity undefined. Another popular attraction of Jamshedpur is the Hudco Lake, set amongst the picturesque hilly terrain and verdure, enchanting they are in very true sense of the term.  The Dalma hill is another tourist spot that offers a commanding view of the countryside.

 Set in the periphery of amazing natural surroundings, Jamshedpur has a lot to offer to the tourist. You are sure to have an engrossing experience here. The co existence of an urban and rural essence is what adds to the beauty of the place.
