Ajmer is a pilgrimage center located near Jaipur. It has the shrine of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. This saint was held in high esteem not only among Muslims but also among the people of other religions. The Ajmer Dargah is located on the northern side of the Taragarh hill and the whole region is surrounded by Aravalli mountain ranges.

The Dargah has many attractive buildings, tombs and courtyards and the Akbari Masjid in the Dargah was built in 1571 A.D. This was spacious mosque and was renovated in 1901 A.D. by Nawab Ghafoor Ali of Danapur. The tomb was plated with gold and has a marble screen. An Arabic school, Moiniua Usmania Darul Uloom is functioning within its premises.
