Mahatma Gandhi Hall was built in 1904 and it was called King Edward Hall at that time. After India got its independence the name was changed as Mahatma Gandhi Hall. This is one of the important landmarks of the city. It is built in the Indo-Gothis style of architecture. In front of the hall is a clock tower that is known as Ghanta Ghar. The hall is big enough to hold 2000 people at a time. There is a temple, library and children’s park in this building. The painting exhibitions and book fairs are hosted here.
