Sankagiri Fort is a historical place located on the Sankagiri Hills. This was an ancient fort built in 15^th century by the Vijayanagar kings. This has 14 walls and some of them were built by the British.

Sankagiri was an important military base of Tippu Sultan. The structure has two mosques, two Varadharaja Perumal temples, two oil godowns, a death well and a granary. There are steep and rugged steps to reach the mandaps at the top of the hill.
