Sangameswarar Temple is also called Kooduthurai as it is said to be the confluence of three rivers, Cauvery, Bhavani and the invisible Agaya Gangai. This temple has a beautiful river side garden, boat ride, swimming area and a huge hall for social events.

The deity in this temple is called Bhavani Eswarar or Sangameshwarar. The temple is praised in many old Tamil literatures.
