Erode Government Museum was established in the year 1987 and it is located inside the Mucipal campus at Brough Road. It has inscriptions that belong to the Kongu kingdom and Chola kingdom.

The collection of palm-leaf manuscripts, Tanjore paintings, ancient coins and objects related to numismatics, philately, geology and anthropology are kept here. The time of visit is from 9.30 A.M. to 5 P.M. and it remains closed on Fridays, second Saturdays and national holidays.
