Transportation in Coimbatore is less troublesome as you have many options like buses, auto rickshaws and taxis. There are private owned and government owned town buses and traveling by them is the cheapest option. Another affordable option is auto rickshaws. It is better to insist them to charge based on the meters or you may fix a fare before you get in. The call taxis will pick you up in your doorsteps if you book them in advance. There will be a minimum charge for autos and taxis and when you reach that minimum, you will be charged based on the kilometers. If you hire them for a full day then the charges will be different. You can get the numbers of the call taxis from the railway station, hotel or airport. You can also find private cabs in the taxi stands.
