Maruthamalai Hill Temple is situated on the top of Maruthamalai near Coimbatore. This hill is a part of the Western Ghats. This is an ancient temple said to be more than 1200 years old. In this temple, there is a shrine named Paambaatti Sitthar Kugai and is said that this sitthar lived here. There is another temple near its foothills named Thaanthondri Vinaayakar Temple. The hills is said to have many herbs of medicinal value. The native Tamil tribal people live here.
