Gass Forest Museum was established by the Englishman Henry Anderson Gass in the beginning of 20th century. Originally it was started in Madras and later it was extended to Coimbatore when the forest college was opened here on 1st July 1912. There are many exhibits in the museum under different categories namely timber, non-timer forest products, wood crafts, wildlife, entomology, mycology, geology, ethnology, arms, forest engineering and environment.
