Guindy Snake Park houses various species of venomous snakes and rare species of reptiles including king cobras, pythons, adders, monitor lizards and giant turtles. There is a children’s park near this area and this park is opened for all people from 8.30 A.M. to 5.30 P.M. It is closed on Tuesdays.

 

Crocodile Bank – 38 km 42 min

ECR Road, Chennai

 

The Crocodile Bank is situated among the indigenous forests in front of the Bay of Bengal. This is the only underwater crocodile exhibit in India. It was opened in 1976. Jaws III is the largest crocodile here and you can watch it fed by the keepers at 4 P.M. on Sundays. The weekend feeding demonstrations are provided at 11.30 A.M., 12.30 P.M., 4 P.M. and 5 P.M. on Sundays.

 

The night safaris are organized on Saturday and Sunday from 7 P.M. to 8.30 P.M. All the visitors are provided with torches and they can enjoy the secret side of the crocodiles during night which is not witnessed in daytime. The baby reptiles are kept separately at Young Reptiles Booth and give unique experience to the viewers. The time of visit of the Crocodile Bank is 8.30 A.M. to 5.30 P.M. and it is closed on Monday.
